1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LO9ON, Inc., a California corporation that does business under the trade names “Want Ad Digest” and “LOGON” (collectively, “Want Ad Digest,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about you when you use the website located at wantaddigest.com and any related services, features, content, applications, and communications channels we provide (collectively, the “Service”).
This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Service, including buyers, sellers, browsers, registered account holders, and any person who communicates with Want Ad Digest by telephone, text message, email, or on-platform message. This Privacy Policy is incorporated into our Terms of Service by reference and forms part of the agreement between you and Want Ad Digest.
The Service is operated from the United States and is intended solely for users located in the United States. Want Ad Digest does not target users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or any other jurisdiction outside the United States, and we do not represent that the Service or this Privacy Policy complies with the laws of any jurisdiction outside the United States. Users who access the Service from outside the United States do so at their own risk.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, you must not use the Service.
2. Information We Collect
We collect personal information in the following categories, organized in accordance with the categories defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).
2.1 Identifiers
When you create an account or use the Service, we collect identifiers including your real name, email address, telephone number, mailing or physical location (such as city, state, or ZIP code), username, account password (stored as a hashed value, never in plain text), and IP address. We collect this information directly from you when you provide it.
2.2 Commercial Information
When you post a listing, purchase a Paid Feature, or interact with the Service, we collect commercial information including the content of your listings (descriptions, prices, photographs, item details), records of products or services purchased or considered, transaction history, and information about Paid Features you have purchased. Payment card information is not collected or stored by Want Ad Digest; payment card information is collected and processed directly by Stripe, Inc., as described in Section 4.
2.3 Internet or Other Electronic Network Activity
When you visit or interact with the Service, we collect internet activity information including your browsing history within the Service, search history within the Service, pages viewed, listings viewed, time spent on pages, referring websites, device type, browser type and version, operating system, language preference, and information about your interactions with our website features. We collect this information automatically through standard web technologies including cookies, log files, and analytics tools, as described in Section 5.
2.4 Geolocation Information
We collect approximate geolocation information based on your IP address and any location information you voluntarily provide in your account profile or in listings (such as the city, region, or ZIP code where an item is located). We do not collect precise GPS-level geolocation information.
2.5 Audio, Electronic, and Visual Information
When you communicate with Want Ad Digest by telephone, we record the audio of the call and generate AI-assisted written transcripts of the recording. When you send or receive text messages, MMS messages, emails, or on-platform messages with Want Ad Digest, or when you exchange on-platform messages with other users through the Service, we collect, store, and archive the content of those communications, including any photographs, images, attachments, or other media. We collect this information directly from you and from the other party to the communication, as applicable. Further detail about communications recording and archival is provided in Section 6.
2.6 Professional or Employment-Related Information
We do not routinely collect professional or employment-related information. If you voluntarily include such information in your account profile, in a listing, or in a communication with Want Ad Digest, we receive it as part of that User Content but do not separately solicit it.
2.7 Inferences
We may derive limited inferences from the information we collect, such as which categories of listings a user is likely interested in or whether a listing appears to violate our Terms of Service. We do not use inferences to create comprehensive consumer profiles for advertising or behavioral targeting purposes.
2.8 Sensitive Personal Information
Under the CPRA, the contents of communications where Want Ad Digest is not the intended recipient are classified as sensitive personal information. This includes the content of on-platform messages exchanged between users through the Service’s messaging system. We collect and process this category of sensitive personal information solely to operate the Service, prevent fraud and abuse, investigate disputes, comply with legal obligations, and protect the safety of our users. We do not use sensitive personal information for any purpose that would require offering you the right to limit its use under CPRA § 1798.121, because we do not use it to infer characteristics about you or for any other secondary purpose. As described in Section 9, you nonetheless have the right to request that we limit our use of sensitive personal information at any time.
2.9 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, government identification numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric information, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, union membership, genetic data, health information, sexual orientation, or information about criminal history. If you voluntarily disclose any such information to us in a listing or communication, you do so at your own risk and we will treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
3. How We Use Your Information

- Operating the Service: creating and managing your account, displaying your listings to other users, enabling communications between users, processing payments for Paid Features, and providing customer support.

- Legal compliance: complying with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, subpoenas, and other legal process; responding to government and law enforcement requests; enforcing our Terms of Service; and exercising or defending legal claims.
- Tax reporting: facilitating payment processing and tax reporting required by federal and state law, including 1099-K reporting by our payment processor.
- Improving the Service: analyzing how users interact with the Service to identify problems, develop new features, and improve user experience.
We do not use your personal information for any purpose that is materially different from or incompatible with the purposes described in this Privacy Policy without first providing notice and, where required, obtaining your consent.
4. Third Parties and Service Providers
We share personal information with the following categories of third parties for the business purposes described above. Each third party listed is a service provider or processor that handles personal information on our behalf and is contractually obligated to use that information only for the purposes for which we engage them.
4.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)
Stripe, Inc. processes all payments for Paid Features on the Service. When you purchase a Paid Feature, your payment card information is collected directly by Stripe and is not stored on Want Ad Digest’s systems. We receive limited transaction information from Stripe (such as the fact and amount of a successful payment, the last four digits of the card, and the cardholder name) to maintain our records. Your interactions with Stripe are governed by Stripe’s own privacy policy, available at https://stripe.com/privacy. Stripe may issue 1099-K tax forms to Want Ad Digest reporting transaction volume in accordance with federal and state tax law.
4.2 RingCentral (Telephone and Messaging)
RingCentral, Inc. provides our business telephone service, voicemail, automatic call recording, AI-assisted call transcription, and SMS/MMS messaging infrastructure. When you call, are called by, text, or are texted by Want Ad Digest, the call audio, transcript, and message content are processed and stored by RingCentral on our behalf. RingCentral’s handling of this information is governed by its own privacy policy, available at https://www.ringcentral.com/legal/privacy-notice.html.
4.3 Google Services
Want Ad Digest uses several services provided by Google LLC. Each is described below.
Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to collect and analyze information about how visitors interact with the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect internet activity information, including IP address, pages viewed, time spent on the Service, referring website, and device and browser characteristics. This information is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s privacy policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by declining analytics cookies in our cookie consent banner.
Google Ads and Google AdSense. Tracking code for Google Ads conversion measurement and Google AdSense is present on the Service and may set cookies and transmit visitor information to Google. Such code was installed before the current operation of Want Ad Digest by LO9ON, Inc. and remains in place. Data collected by these services is processed by Google in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com, or by declining advertising cookies in our cookie consent banner.
Google Maps. We use Google Maps to display the approximate locations of listings and other map-based content on the Service. When you view a page containing an embedded Google Map, Google receives your IP address and information about your interaction with the map. The Google Maps service is governed by Google’s privacy policy and the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service.
YouTube. We use YouTube to display embedded video content on the Service. When you view a page containing an embedded YouTube video, YouTube (owned by Google) receives your IP address, information about your interaction with the video player, and may set cookies even before you play the video.
Google reCAPTCHA. We use Google reCAPTCHA on certain forms on the Service, including account registration and listing submission forms, to prevent automated abuse and spam. reCAPTCHA collects information about the visitor including IP address, mouse movements, browser and device characteristics, and behavior patterns, and transmits this information to Google to determine whether the visitor is human. Use of reCAPTCHA is governed by Google’s privacy policy.
Google Workspace. We use Google Workspace to send transactional emails from the Service (such as account verification, listing confirmations, password resets, and customer service replies) and to receive and store emails sent to Want Ad Digest’s business email addresses, including [email protected], [email protected], and similar addresses. Google Workspace processes the contents of those emails, the email addresses of senders and recipients, and associated metadata in order to deliver, store, and make the messages available to Want Ad Digest. Want Ad Digest does not send marketing or promotional emails. All emails sent from Want Ad Digest to users are transactional in nature and are sent only in response to a user’s account activity, listing activity, or direct inquiry.
Google Drive. We use Google Drive to store backup copies of business records including telephone call recordings and transcripts. Records stored on Google Drive are subject to Google’s privacy policy and security practices.
The collective use of Google services described above, including the use of cookies by Google Analytics, Google Ads, AdSense, Google Maps, YouTube, and reCAPTCHA, involves the transmission of personal information to Google for purposes that include, in some cases, cross-context behavioral advertising. As described in Section 9, you have the right to opt out of such sharing. See also our “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” disclosure in Section 9.4.
4.4 Intercom (Customer Messaging)
We use Intercom, a service provided by Intercom, Inc., to provide in-product customer messaging and support. When you interact with the Intercom widget on the Service, Intercom collects and stores your IP address, browser and device information, page views, the content of your messages with our support team, and any identifiers you provide. This information is processed by Intercom in accordance with Intercom’s privacy policy, available at https://www.intercom.com/legal/privacy.
4.5 Hosting Provider
The Service is hosted on servers operated by Hetzner Online GmbH in data centers located within the United States. All personal information collected through the Service is stored on infrastructure located in the United States. We do not transfer personal information outside the United States as part of our routine operations.
4.6 Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads)
Tracking code associated with Microsoft Advertising (formerly Bing Ads) is present on the Service and may set cookies and transmit visitor information to Microsoft Corporation. Such code was installed before the current operation of Want Ad Digest by LO9ON, Inc. and remains in place. Data collected by Microsoft Advertising may include IP address, pages viewed, and event data, and may be used for purposes that include conversion measurement, remarketing, and advertising personalization. Microsoft’s handling of this information is governed by Microsoft’s privacy statement, available at https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement. You can manage your Microsoft advertising preferences at https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings, or decline the marketing/advertising category in our cookie consent banner.
4.7 Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
The Service includes embedded social media content and sharing widgets from Facebook and Instagram, both of which are operated by Meta Platforms, Inc. (“Meta”). When you view a page containing this embedded content, Meta receives information about your visit, including IP address, pages viewed, and device and browser characteristics, and may set cookies on your device, regardless of whether you click on the embedded content or have an account with Facebook or Instagram. Meta’s handling of this information is governed by Meta’s privacy policy, available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can manage your Meta advertising and data preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account settings, or decline the marketing/social media category in our cookie consent banner.
4.8 Cloudflare
The Service is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc., which provides content delivery network (CDN), distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) protection, and security services. All visitor traffic to the Service passes through Cloudflare’s edge network before reaching our hosting infrastructure. In the course of providing these services, Cloudflare receives and processes visitor IP addresses, request headers, browser and device characteristics, and request payloads. Cloudflare may set cookies on your device for security purposes, including to identify legitimate visitors and to prevent automated abuse. Cloudflare’s handling of this information is governed by Cloudflare’s privacy policy, available at https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.
4.9 Roundcube Webmail
A Roundcube webmail interface is present on a subdomain of wantaddigest.com as a residual installation from a prior operator of the Service. To the extent any personal information is processed through the Roundcube interface, it is processed locally on Want Ad Digest’s hosting infrastructure described in Section 4.5 and is subject to the same security and retention practices as other data on that infrastructure.
4.10 Image Optimization
We use a third-party image optimization service to compress and optimize photographs uploaded to the Service. When a photograph is uploaded, it is transmitted to the optimization service, processed, and returned in optimized form. According to the optimization service’s published practices, the service does not retain copies of photographs after processing.
4.11 Other Disclosures
We may also disclose personal information:
- To law enforcement agencies, government authorities, courts, regulators, or other third parties in response to a subpoena, court order, search warrant, or other valid legal process; to comply with applicable law; to investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activity, fraud, threats to safety, or violations of our Terms of Service; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Want Ad Digest, its users, or the public.
- To professional advisors, including attorneys, accountants, and insurers, in connection with the provision of professional services to Want Ad Digest.
- To a successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy of LO9ON, Inc. or Want Ad Digest, in which case personal information would be transferred as part of the transaction subject to this Privacy Policy or a successor policy.
- With your consent or at your direction.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service and to collect information about how you interact with it.
5.1 What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the website to recognize your device and remember information about your visit. Some cookies expire when you close your browser (session cookies); others remain on your device for a longer period (persistent cookies).
5.2 Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential cookies. These cookies are necessary for the Service to function. They include cookies that maintain your login session, remember items in your account, prevent fraudulent use of accounts, and ensure the basic operation of the website. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without losing the ability to use the Service.
- Analytics cookies. Google Analytics places cookies on your device to collect information about how you use the Service, as described in Section 4.3. These cookies help us understand which features and pages are most useful, identify problems, and improve the Service.
- Customer messaging cookies. Intercom places cookies on your device to operate its in-product messaging widget, recognize returning visitors, and maintain support conversation history, as described in Section 4.4.
5.3 Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through your browser settings. You can block or delete cookies, set your browser to alert you when cookies are being placed, or refuse cookies from specific websites. Please note that blocking essential cookies will prevent the Service from functioning properly. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking specifically using the opt-out tool referenced in Section 4.3. Most browsers also support “Do Not Track” signals; we honor browser-based opt-out preference signals, including the Global Privacy Control (GPC), as described in Section 9.4.
5.4 Detailed Cookie Policy
For a detailed inventory of all cookies and similar tracking technologies used on the Service, including the specific cookie names, the services that set them, their purposes, and their expiration periods, please see our Cookie Policy at https://wantaddigest.com/cookie-policy/. The Cookie Policy is automatically updated to reflect changes in the cookies used on the Service. You may also revisit and change your cookie consent preferences at any time at https://wantaddigest.com/opt-out-preferences/.
6. Communications, Recording, and Archival
This section describes our practices for collecting, recording, and retaining communications. These practices are also reflected in Section 25 of our Terms of Service.
6.1 Telephone Call Recording
All telephone calls between you and Want Ad Digest are recorded as a routine business practice. At the start of each call, you will hear an automated notification informing you that the call may be recorded. By continuing the call after this notification, you consent to the recording. This consent satisfies the consent requirements of California Penal Code § 632 and any analogous federal or state law. If you do not consent to recording, you must end the call and communicate with us by another means.
Recorded calls are processed by RingCentral as described in Section 4.2 and are also backed up to Google Drive as described in Section 4.3. Recordings are used for quality assurance, training, customer support, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and litigation defense.
6.2 AI-Assisted Call Transcription
Recorded calls are processed by an AI-assisted transcription service provided by RingCentral to generate written transcripts. Transcripts are stored alongside the underlying audio recording and are subject to the same retention practices and uses described in Section 6.1. AI-generated transcripts may contain errors; the audio recording is the authoritative record of any call.
6.3 Text Messages and MMS
All SMS and MMS messages exchanged between you and Want Ad Digest, including any photographs or other media, are stored and archived as a routine business practice. Text messaging practices are further described in Section 7 of this Privacy Policy.
6.4 Email
All emails sent to or from Want Ad Digest’s addresses (including [email protected], [email protected], and [email protected]) are retained and archived as a routine business practice.
6.5 On-Platform Messages
Want Ad Digest provides an on-platform messaging system that enables users to communicate with one another about listings without disclosing their personal contact information. All messages exchanged through this system are stored and archived. Want Ad Digest does not delete on-platform messages between users in the ordinary course of business. The integrity of the message archive is necessary to protect users from fraud and abuse, to enable investigation of disputes, to respond to law enforcement and legal process, and to comply with our legal obligations. By using the on-platform messaging system, you acknowledge and consent to the indefinite retention of your messages.
6.6 Business Records
All recordings, transcripts, message logs, and related metadata are the business records of Want Ad Digest, are not the property of any user, and may be retained by Want Ad Digest for as long as Want Ad Digest deems necessary for legal, compliance, dispute resolution, and operational purposes. See Section 8 for additional information about retention.
7. SMS and MMS Messaging
This section describes Want Ad Digest’s SMS (text message) and MMS (multimedia message) practices. This section is intended to satisfy the disclosure requirements of The Campaign Registry (TCR), the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA) Messaging Principles and Best Practices, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and applicable state law.
7.1 Program Description
Want Ad Digest’s SMS and MMS program is operational and customer-service in nature. The program is primarily inbound: users send SMS and MMS messages, including photographs of items they wish to list, to Want Ad Digest’s published business telephone number. Want Ad Digest receives those messages, processes them, and uses the content to assist with creating or updating listings on the Service. From time to time and on a limited basis, Want Ad Digest may send an SMS or MMS message to a user in response to that user’s prior contact, to confirm listing details, to follow up on a customer service inquiry, or for similar operational purposes.
Want Ad Digest does not send marketing or promotional SMS or MMS messages. Want Ad Digest will not send you any advertising, promotional, or marketing text messages without your separate prior express written consent.
7.2 Consent (Opt-In)
You may opt in to receive operational SMS and MMS messages from Want Ad Digest in any of the following ways:
- By providing your mobile telephone number to Want Ad Digest in your account, in a listing, or in any other communication;
- By initiating SMS or MMS contact with Want Ad Digest by sending a message to our published business telephone number;
- By verbally authorizing Want Ad Digest, during a recorded telephone call, to send you a text message.
By doing any of the above, you expressly consent to receive operational SMS and MMS messages from Want Ad Digest at the mobile number you provided. You represent and warrant that you are the subscriber or customary user of that mobile number and that you have the authority to consent to receive messages at that number.
7.3 Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on your activity and your interactions with Want Ad Digest. Because the program is primarily inbound and Want Ad Digest does not run scheduled messaging campaigns, most users receive few or no outbound text messages from Want Ad Digest. When outbound messages are sent, they are sent only in response to a prior interaction with the user.
7.4 Cost
Standard message and data rates from your wireless carrier may apply to any SMS or MMS message you send or receive. Want Ad Digest does not charge for messages.
7.5 Opt-Out
You may stop receiving any SMS or MMS messages from Want Ad Digest at any time by:
- Replying STOP, CANCEL, END, QUIT, or UNSUBSCRIBE to any message you receive from Want Ad Digest;
- Emailing [email protected] with a request to be removed; or
- Telling Want Ad Digest verbally during any telephone call.
Want Ad Digest will honor opt-out requests promptly. Opting out of SMS and MMS messages will not affect your account or your ability to use the Service through other means, but it may limit Want Ad Digest’s ability to assist you with photograph-based listing services.
7.6 Help
For help or information about Want Ad Digest’s SMS and MMS messaging, reply HELP to any text message from Want Ad Digest, email [email protected], or call our published business telephone number.
7.7 Information Collected Through SMS and MMS
When you send an SMS or MMS message to Want Ad Digest, we collect your mobile telephone number, the content of your message (including any photographs or other media), the date and time of the message, and any associated metadata. We use this information to receive, manage, and post listings on your behalf, to communicate with you about your listings or account, and for the other business purposes described in Section 3 of this Privacy Policy.
We do not sell or share SMS or MMS information with third parties for marketing purposes. We do not use SMS or MMS information for cross-context behavioral advertising. SMS and MMS information is processed by RingCentral as our service provider, as described in Section 4.2, and is otherwise treated in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
7.8 No Sharing of SMS Opt-In Data
Information that you provide as part of opting in to Want Ad Digest’s SMS and MMS program, including your mobile telephone number, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes under any circumstances.
8. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect our legitimate business interests. The retention period varies by category of information:
- Account information: retained for the duration of your account and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations and to enable account recovery if you return to the Service.
- Listings: retained for the duration the listing is active and for a reasonable period after expiration or removal, for record-keeping and dispute resolution purposes.
- Payment records: retained for the period required by federal and state tax law and our internal accounting practices, typically at least seven (7) years.
- Telephone call recordings and transcripts: retained for as long as Want Ad Digest deems necessary for legal, compliance, dispute resolution, and operational purposes. Recordings are backed up beyond the retention period of our telephone service provider.
- Text messages, emails, and on-platform messages: retained as business records for as long as Want Ad Digest deems necessary. Want Ad Digest does not delete on-platform messages between users in the ordinary course of business, as described in Section 6.5.
- Web analytics information: retained for the period set by our analytics provider’s default retention settings, which may be configured for periods such as 14 months.
- Information subject to a legal hold: retained for the duration of any actual or reasonably anticipated legal proceeding, regulatory investigation, or other legal matter, regardless of the standard retention periods above.
When personal information is no longer needed for any of the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, we will delete or anonymize it in accordance with our internal data management practices. Some categories of information, including the communications archives described in Section 6 (telephone call recordings and transcripts, text messages, emails, and on-platform messages between users), are retained indefinitely for legitimate business purposes including fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance, and the integrity of the messaging archive. If complete deletion is not technically feasible (for example, information stored in routine system backups), we will isolate the information and protect it from further use until deletion becomes feasible.
9. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, “CCPA/CPRA”), provides you with certain rights regarding your personal information. This section describes those rights and how to exercise them.
9.1 Right to Know
You have the right to request that Want Ad Digest disclose the following information about our collection and use of your personal information over the past 12 months (or, where you request a longer period, such other period as required by law):
- The categories of personal information we have collected about you;
- The categories of sources from which the personal information was collected;
- The business or commercial purposes for collecting or sharing the personal information;
- The categories of third parties with whom we have shared the personal information;
- The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
9.2 Right to Delete
You have the right to request that Want Ad Digest delete personal information we have collected about you, subject to certain exceptions provided by law. We may decline a deletion request to the extent that retention of the information is necessary for us to: complete a transaction, provide a good or service you requested, detect or prevent fraud or security incidents, comply with a legal obligation, exercise or defend legal claims, conduct internal uses reasonably aligned with your expectations, or for other purposes permitted by CCPA/CPRA.
9.3 Right to Correct
You have the right to request that Want Ad Digest correct inaccurate personal information that we maintain about you. Upon receipt of a verifiable correction request, we will use commercially reasonable efforts to correct the information as directed.
9.4 Right to Opt Out of Sale or Sharing — Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Want Ad Digest does not sell personal information for monetary consideration. However, the Service uses Google Analytics, Google Ads, Google AdSense, Microsoft Advertising (Bing Ads), Google Maps, YouTube, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) embedded content, and related third-party advertising and analytics services that, under the definitions of “sell” and “share” in CCPA/CPRA and analogous state privacy laws, involve the disclosure of personal information to third parties for purposes that include cross-context behavioral advertising. If you are a California resident (or a resident of another state with a comparable privacy law), you have the right to opt out of such disclosures.
To exercise your right to opt out, you may use any of the following methods:
- Cookie consent banner. Decline the marketing/advertising and analytics categories in the Want Ad Digest cookie consent banner. The banner is presented to you on your first visit to the Service and can be re-accessed at any time at https://wantaddigest.com/opt-out-preferences/.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC). Enable the Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. Want Ad Digest honors browser-based opt-out preference signals, including GPC, as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
- Email request. Email us at [email protected] with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” and include the email address associated with your Want Ad Digest account.
- Direct opt-outs with third parties. You may also opt out of personalized advertising directly with the third-party services by visiting https://adssettings.google.com for Google services and https://account.microsoft.com/privacy/ad-settings for Microsoft Advertising.
9.5 Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information
As described in Section 2.8, we collect a limited category of sensitive personal information (the contents of on-platform messages). We use this information solely for the purposes of operating the Service, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, and legal compliance. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes that would otherwise trigger your right to limit its use under CPRA § 1798.121. Nonetheless, you may submit a request to limit our use of sensitive personal information by contacting us at [email protected].
9.6 Right to Non-Discrimination
Want Ad Digest will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your rights under CCPA/CPRA. We will not deny you the Service, charge you different prices, provide you with a different level of quality, or suggest that you will receive a different level of service because you exercised your rights.
9.7 How to Submit a Request
To submit a request to exercise any of the rights described in this Section 9, contact us using either of the following methods:
- Email: [email protected] with the subject line indicating the type of request (for example, “CCPA Right to Know Request” or “CCPA Deletion Request”).
- Customer support: [email protected]
To protect your privacy, we will need to verify your identity before responding to a request. We may ask you to provide information that allows us to reasonably verify that you are the person about whom we collected personal information. We will acknowledge receipt of your request within ten (10) business days. We will respond substantively to verifiable requests within the timeframes required by CCPA/CPRA, generally within 45 days of receipt, with the possibility of one extension of up to an additional 45 days when reasonably necessary, in which case we will inform you of the extension and the reason for it.
9.8 Authorized Agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. The authorized agent must provide written proof of authorization signed by you, and we may require you to verify your identity directly with us before processing the request.
9.9 California “Shine the Light” Disclosure
California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about disclosures of personal information by Want Ad Digest to third parties for direct marketing purposes during the preceding calendar year. Want Ad Digest does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. If you are a California resident and would like to make a Shine the Light request, contact us at [email protected].
10. Other State Privacy Rights
Several other U.S. states, including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, and others, have enacted comprehensive privacy laws that grant residents of those states certain rights similar to those provided under CCPA/CPRA. The specific rights and the thresholds for applicability vary by state. Currently, Want Ad Digest does not meet the applicability thresholds of most state privacy laws other than California’s. However, if you are a resident of a U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law and you wish to exercise rights under that law, you may submit a request using the contact methods in Section 9.7 and we will respond in accordance with applicable law.
11. Children’s Information
The Service is intended solely for users who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. Want Ad Digest does not knowingly collect personal information from any person under 18 years of age. We do not direct the Service to children, and we do not knowingly market to children. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 within the meaning of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), 15 U.S.C. §§ 6501–6506, without verified parental consent as that term is defined under COPPA, we will delete that information promptly and take any additional steps required by COPPA.
